South America offers a compact country set with strong coastline clues. Chile follows a long stretch of the Pacific coast, while Brazil occupies a large part of the east. Those conspicuous shapes can help you position smaller neighbours, but a useful mental map also includes the inland countries. Bolivia and Paraguay have no coastline, so their surrounding borders provide more useful clues than an ocean edge. This South American countries quiz includes the 12 sovereign countries in the site’s study set. French Guiana is not a separate country answer because it is an overseas part of France, and dependent island territories are outside this round. Focus on relationships in the northern group as well as the large southern outlines. Guyana and Suriname are distinct countries and should not be confused with French Guiana. In typing mode, examine the highlighted shape before entering a name. In click mode, read the entire country prompt and check the coast or neighbouring outline. A missed-answer retry makes it possible to concentrate on one troublesome border area without repeating every location you already know.
