A world map compresses a complicated surface into a flat picture. Shapes and relative sizes depend on the projection, so learn relationships as well as silhouettes. A coastline, a neighbouring country and a position within a continent form a stronger memory than size alone. This country quiz uses an explicitly defined set: 193 United Nations member states plus Palestine and Vatican City. That creates a 195-entry study round, rather than claiming that every classroom or map publisher uses one universal country count. Dependencies and additional disputed entities are not separate answers in this set. Tiny states may be represented by markers because their outlines are difficult to select at world scale. Countries that cross the antimeridian can also look unusual on a flat map. Zoom in when necessary, and use the review to connect each missed name with its surroundings. If naming every country feels overwhelming, move to a regional quiz first. Build familiarity with a continent, return to the full map and compare your accuracy before trying to reduce your completion time.

Frequently asked questions
How many countries are in this world quiz?
The set has 195 entries: 193 UN member states plus Palestine and Vatican City. Other entities and dependent territories are not separate answers.
Can I type every country name instead of clicking?
Yes. Select typing mode before starting. Each question highlights an area and accepts its listed common or alternate names.
Why does a tiny country have a round marker?
A marker makes a very small outline selectable. It indicates the location for this simplified learning map and does not depict the country at an enlarged true scale.
Is this an all-countries sovereignty reference?
No. It is a defined learning set. Boundary simplification and country inclusion are explained so the quiz is not mistaken for a legal or diplomatic reference.
Which regional round should I try before the world map?
Start with a continent you partly know. Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas each have linked map rounds that reduce the number of names to learn at once.
