Explore Central America Map
Central America is a useful small region for building confidence with map practice. The answer set here consists of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Mexico is not included in this seven-country round, even though it is closely connected geographically and culturally with the region. The phrase Latin America describes a broader cultural and linguistic area, so a Latin America map quiz would not have the same coverage. Learn the countries in connected pairs rather than as a list alone. Look at which countries have Caribbean or Pacific coastlines and which borders connect the northern and southern portions of the isthmus. El Salvador’s compact shape can require extra zoom, while Panama’s curved outline helps anchor the southeastern end. A typing round asks you to recognize a location without seeing its name on the map. A click round reverses that task by giving the name first. Switching between those modes helps you practise both visual recognition and name recall. Use the missed-answer list to revisit the same pair of confusing neighbours until the difference becomes clear.

Frequently asked questions
Which seven countries are in the Central America quiz?
Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama are the complete answer set.
Is Mexico included with Central America here?
No. Mexico belongs to the broader North America round on this site, not this seven-country isthmus set.
Is a Latin America map quiz the same thing?
No. Latin America is a broader cultural and linguistic region. This page specifically tests the seven Central American countries.
Why does El Salvador need careful selection?
Its outline is compact at this scale. Zoom in or use the keyboard-friendly list rather than trying to hit the smallest visible area.
Should I memorize the countries from north to south?
A north-to-south sequence is a helpful start, but compare borders and coastlines too so you can identify an isolated highlighted shape.
