Explore Middle East Map

The Middle East has no single universally fixed country list. This round therefore states its scope rather than treating the region as an uncontested boundary. It includes Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Some courses exclude Cyprus or include additional neighbouring countries. Check your course’s convention before using a quiz score as a study benchmark. The Arabian Peninsula gives you a strong initial shape, but its smaller coastal states need a closer look. The eastern Mediterranean cluster is more compact, while Iran and Turkey provide larger mainland anchors. Geography practice benefits from examining coastlines and adjoining regions together. Read prompts fully when names are similar, and zoom before selecting very small areas. The underlying boundary data is simplified for learning and is not a statement about disputed borders or diplomatic recognition. After a round, compare the countries you missed with their nearest larger neighbours. That makes a correction a spatial relationship you can reuse, instead of a one-off guess.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one official Middle East country list?

No single list is universal. This quiz uses a stated 17-place set so you can compare it with the convention used in your course.

Are Egypt, Turkey and Cyprus included in this round?

Yes. All three are included in the set used on this page.

How is Palestine handled in the quiz?

Palestine is included as a distinct entry. The simplified map is for learning and is not a legal or diplomatic boundary reference.

Can I zoom into the Gulf states?

Yes. Use the zoom and pan controls, then select the outline or marker. A keyboard-friendly list is also available.

Should a Middle East score be compared directly with another site’s score?

Only after checking the included places and scoring rules. Different definitions and question sets can produce different totals.
